Oakdale Golf Club has a very active and well-established Ladies' Section, with a membership across a wide age range. Our aim is to provide enjoyable golf that caters for all abilities and ages of our members in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The Ladies' course measures 5513 yards and has a standard scratch of 72.
New members, both senior and junior are especially welcome and for those without handicaps, a designated organiser is available to help. The Club seeks to nurture new members and has a devised a programme to give guidance and help to new memberst wanting to 'get going' with their golf. Lessons are also available from Clive Dell, our PGA Professional.
Ladies' competition days are Tuesday and Sunday. Numerous trophies are competed for, together with handicap qualifying and non- qualifying competitions and some with relaxed team/'fun' formats. There are plenty of 'drawn' competitions allowing the integration of new and existing members, as well as high, medium and low stableford draws to bring the different handicap divisions together.
Oakdale Ladies runs 3 teams in the Yorkshire Inter-Club Championships, as well as competing in the Harrogate & District Union of Golf Clubs Winter League and summer divisional competitions. Annual exchange days and friendly matches are also arranged to ensure that competitive and social golf is available for all standards of golfer.
