The Centenary Project
To celebrate the centenary of the Club in 2014 it is proposed to extend to the balcony, as shown in the illustration above. This will enhance a very popular feature of the Clubhouse. As well as providing additional outside seating, it will give extended views across the course, especially over the 18th fairway and green.
Full planning permission has now been granted and fund raising has achieved a total of £26,000 to date against a target of £35,000. All these funds have been collected from competition entry fees, social events, draws and raffles and the Club Lottery.
Members can help with the final push to meet the target by joining the Lottery which costs £2 per month with 50% of the proceeds allocated to prizes. Application forms are available from Karen in the Secretary’s office.
Various events and competitions are to take place through 2012, watch the notice board and check the new diary for dates of Texas Scrambles, 9 Hole Mixed Stableford and other special events.
The Centenary Committee is working on a programme for the Centenary Year and more details will be available as 2014 draws closer.
