Clive Dell      

Oakdale has a well stocked Professionals shop run by our resident of over 17 years, Clive Dell. 

Clive is a member of  'Foremost', the UK's largest golf retail and marketing group. This provides a tremendous relationship with the rest of the golf industry and improved buying power. Prior to turning professional Clive played full time amateur golf for 2 years, gaining experience through playing in events around the UK and Europe. He won the County Boys championship and represented Berks, Bucks and Oxon playing in the Boys, Youths and First teams. His home town club at the time was Stoke Poges  in Berkshire, not only famous for the filming of 'Goldfinger' the movie but also host to many large and important professional tournaments in Berkshire.

In October 1976, whilst based at Stoke Poges Clive gained his European Players Card and for the following 3 years played tournament golf around the world on the European, East African and South African Tours as well as playing in The Far East and The West Indies.

Clives' first position as a club professional was at Royal Ascot GC in Berkshire where he stayed for 8 years. Whilst at Royal Ascot Clive had the privelege of teaching members of The Royal Household at Windsor Castle. He then moved on to Maidenhead GC as professional staying for 4 years before moving North to Oakdale in October 1993. In his time at Oakdale Clive has been voted Foremost Teaching Professional of the Year.

Golf Clubs

We have a range of the latest golf clubs from leading manufacturers such as Mizuno, Callaway, Ping, Footjoy, Odyssey, Titleist, woods, rescue & traditional irons, wedges and putters - whatever you need we stock it. You can try anything before you buy. Using some of the latest techniques available we can guarantee you the optimum fit for your clubs. This means that the irons will be the correct clubhead design, shaft length, lie angle, shaft flex and material as well as having the best grip for your game. On the woods and hybrids, loft, shaft type and flex will be monitored so that you get maximum distance out of your final choice. This service is all included in the price of the club.

Merchandising

Merchandise bearing the Oakdale logo is also on offer, these range from tees and golf balls to framed prints of the clubhouse and course.

Tuition

Clive provides both individual and group tuition to players of all ages and abilities as well as offering golf club repairs. His advice and opinion are much sought after by both members of Oakdale and local players alike.
