Oakdale Golf Club has a very active and well-established Ladies Section which aims to provide enjoyable golf that caters for all abilities and age groups in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment. We have over 100 playing lady members most of whom compete in handicap qualifying and non-qualifying competitions throughout the year.

The Ladies play their competitions on Tuesdays and Sundays, giving those ladies who work the opportunity to play competitive golf and participate in all the Trophy and Board competitions. Oakdale GC runs three teams in the Yorkshire Inter-Club Championships and has been very successful in recent years. In 2016 our B Team won the YLCGA Team Trophy and qualified for the Final again in 2017, achieving fourth place. Also in 2017, our Scratch team won Division 2 and were promoted to Division 1 of the Scratch team league. We compete in the Harrogate and District Union of Golf Clubs Winter League  which we won in 2016 and 2017. The club has also achieved both team and individual success in the Union's Summer Divisional Championships

Apart from the formal competitions we run "fun" competitions over the winter months, organise an Exchange Day and have friendly inter-club and inter-section matches. Throughout the year we run mixed competitions which are always very popular. We aim to provide competitive and social golf for all levels of golfer. If you wish to improve your game, our PGA Professional, Clive Dell is available to help and he also offers "Taster" sessions if you are new to the sport.

Oakdale GC has a vibrant social life with events planned throughout the year. During the Winter, we hold a monthly Quiz, weekly Bridge afternoons and Dominoes evenings.

It gives me great pleasure to be Lady Captain for 2018 and my chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support. Working alongside my Vice-Captain, Carol Ball and the Ladies Committee, I hope to continue the tradition of providing a warm welcome to new members and visitors and ensure that Oakdale GC Ladies Section goes from strength to strength.
