Oakdale Golf Club
The West Park hotel, restaurant and bar is Harrogate’s destination venue to sleep, eat and drink. Overlooking the beautiful Harrogate Stray, an open area of 200 acres of parkland right in the centre of this historic spa town, this contemporary boutique hotel has been transformed from the original Victorian coach house into 25 spacious and luxurious bedrooms and suites.
The West Park Hotel is approximately 10 minutes drive from Oakdale Golf Club.
I just wanted to thank you and everyone else at Oakdale GC for a fantastic day on the 5th.
Despite the weather, horrendous winds and some torrential rain, we had a great time. The course is fantastic and I don’t think there is a better first tee shot, finishing green or club house balcony anywhere in Yorkshire.
I hope we’ll be able to come to a similar agreement and visit you again in a couple of years time - hopefully to have food as well :-)
Thanks again for your help and good luck to you and the GC
"Hidden gem in the wonderful spa town of Harrogate, definitely worth a stop".
"Just a quick thankyou for allowing us to play your fantastic golf course
over this last couple of days. We will most definitely return."

It was nice to meet you on Friday at Oakdale for a quick chat regarding our trip to Harrogate. I would just like to thank you and all the staff for our golf day which was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The catering, the bar and last but not least the golf course which was exceptional. This was our 1st visit to Oakdale but will definitely not be our last.
Once again thanks to all concerned for a really great day. Until next time stay safe and take care.
On behalf of YUGC I would like to thank you and all at Oakdale Golf Club
for hosting our second County Members event of 2020.
A great day Catherine and the help of all staff was much appreciated.
The service throughout the day to the officials and the members was
superb and I would ask that you pass on our thanks and best wishes to
your Captain and Committee.
Thanks once again Catherine for the great County Members day at Oakdale
yesterday.
As far as setups goes, I've got to say that yours is one of the best we have played on the society in recent years. The views of the course from both the car park and the clubhouse are amazing, it was just a shame that you couldn't have organised better weather for us! I think it was great that you personally came over to us before we went out, this is not something we see from a lot of clubs but a great touch in my opinion.
Now, the golf. Where do I start? In all fairness the course managed to handle adverse weather tremendously and there were very few greens that had pools on them. Nor do I recall any standing water on the fairways. I know that a couple of our guys did not complete the 18 holes in the afternoon due to not enjoying it, but I do stress that this was in no way down to your course, but down to the rain and their own game.
All in all, I've had nothing but good feedback from our guys and we hope that we can get to play your course again. I am not the Captain for next season, so it is not my responsibility to organise next season, but I have spoken to the incoming Captain and he would be more than happy to have us visit you again in 2021.
I would just like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you and everybody at Oakdale golf club for taking care of us on our group golf day on Sunday Sept. 20th. The facilities were fist class, the staff were excellent and the course was in excellent condition.
We will spread the word and we wont hesitate to come back in the very near future.
Located less than half a mile outside of Harrogate Town centre it's hard to believe you are so close to an urban life when on the course. This is a class establishment, clubhouse first class as was the communication and courtesy extended by the club, Catherine was amazing.
Straight away as you step onto the first tee complex you get a sense of an impressive course. Hole after hole tree lined with amazing mature pines, well manicured and maintained. The green complexes offer hidden severe slopes, certainly any local knowledge is an advantage. The course has a lot of lovely holes, but for me the 17th is my personal favourite a par 5, proper double dogleg provides a true 3 shot hole despite measuring only 510 yards, an architectural masterpiece. The closing 18th down a tree lined tunnel with a water Brook running directly in front of the green (same as no 9) has surely spoiled many a score.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience one I would recommend to anyone finding themselves in the North Yorkshire area, you won't regret it.
