The Presidents Prize 36 Hole Match Play Final was contested between Mark Sanderson and Neil Clark, both playing off 10 handicap. Neil started the Final well with a birdie on the first hole, quickly going five up after only 8 holes. The tide then changed on the ninth with Mark registering his first birdie to win the hole. He then went on to win the next three holes to bring it back to Neil still being one up. The next few holes were closely contested and after the first 18 holes, Neil was two up. Following the break the score stayed the same until the 9th hole where again, Mark had another birdie. On the tenth hole, Mark chipped in to take the lead for the first time & he kept the lead until the 17th hole. So the competition came down to the last hole, all square, with both players on the green for two. The hole was halved with two confident final putts in front of the cheering crowd on the balcony. The competition was to be decided by sudden death on the 37th hole. This was won by Neil to take the overall victory. Congratulations to both players for a fantastic final played in a wonderful spirit.

Karen Leake & Patsy Rochester, both from Oakdale GC, played the final of the HDUGC Scratch Matchplay knockout competition over 36 holes at Otley. After a very tight first 9, Karen took a significant 4 hole lead at the end of the first 18 holes. Despite losing the first hole to go 5 down in the afternoon, Patsy pegged the lead back to just 2 after the first 5 holes. However, Karen managed to regain momentum & closed out the match 5&4. Continuing her run of good form, Karen also won the Oakdale GC Ladies Committee Cup with 33 points and  Patsy Rochester was runner up with 30 points.

The Ladies B team qualified for the semi finals of the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association Inter Club Championships and went to Thirsk & Northallerton GC to try & regain the B Team trophy that they won last year. Unfortunately they came up against a very strong team from Moortown GC and despite some hard fought matches lost the semi final, but took comfort from the fact that they were beaten by the eventual winners. Another great performance by the B team.
